What is LVS doing with packets

Hi another question....

The client has established a connection to the director and is routed to a
RS.
He starts transfering a file.
Now the RS dies (delete the entry in the ipvsadm table),
Does the Director automatically redirect the packets to another server??
What is the director doing with these packets,that originally belongs to
the RS that has died.
