How does LVS-DR work?

last time I played with that I used the saru alpha project.
It wasn't as stable as desired, but I don't if somebody has worked on it.

anyway, LVS has a good throughput in a modest box. I haven't made the tests by 
myself, but I can tell you that balancing around 250MBit of WebCache (squid) 
traffic ( well, just the requests ), just consumes around a 5% or less in a 
normal server (HP Proliant DL380).
