Ok, my 2 cents: it seems the stock LVS-NAT worked fine for me until I 
tried to get fancy with PREROUTING. Then it stopped working. The docs 
seemed to indicate that PREROUTING happens before ip_vs, but it still 
seemed to interfere.

Hopefully that's correct and saves someone some time some day.
